Coating Unit
Bitumen Based Coating
The bitumen usage in pipelines coating is the safest way for transferring oil and gas, water and other liquids in high quantity. As in this way the pipelines can be protected against chemical oxygen effects and humidity that could cause rust or other harmful effects.
The coating unit consists of the following activities:
Rusting
The operation of inner and outer rusting for steel pipes for Oil & Gas, Water & Wastewater and Petrochemical pipes from size 50-3,200 millimeters for inner steel pipe with sandblast machine is carried out in this activity.
The rusting for external surface of pipes is done using sandblast and/or shot blast with SA 2 1/2 standard.
The pipes will be erased from scale mill using sandblast and shot blast methods. The surface of pipe will be clean in a way that the original color of metal, which is gray, be apparent and no rust remains on the surface
Priming
This is done immediately after cleaning surfaces of pipes, which can be delivered using machine or human according to conditions and permissions. Bitumen coating and wrapping will be done after priming has been dried out.
Wrapping
The outer layer of pipe will be coated using two layers of suitable primer.
The used bitumen for oil-based coating is Enamel with BS41417 standard and for coal-based bitumen is coal tar with BS41464 standard.
Coating (Enamel & Coal Tar)
Enamel and Coal Tar coating prevent corrosion due to being buried. This unit consists of pipe cleaning, Shot and Grit, Primer, Enamel and laboratory and test. The production capacity of Shot-blast and primer unit is 400-600 square meters per hour and 350-400 meters per hour in Enamel unit.
Coal tar is liquor carbine detergents, which is refer to as bitumen. This bitumen is used with its special primer and two fiber glasses wrapping on the top and bottom.
Cement Based Coating
Pipe Lining
In this unit inner cement coating is done to prevent pipe corrosion and rusting especially for drinking water. In addition, it stops pipe from floating.
The lining is applied centrifugally to pipe, creating a smooth finish the length of the pipe.
Inner Coating (Epoxy)
In order to prevent pipes from oxidation and contamination of drinking water, layers of epoxy coating will be used in various thicknesses of 250 to 800 microns as per customer needs. The standard of AWWA and DIN-30677-T2 is used.
Pipe Curing
After lining, the pipe needs curing, as the cement should be kept moist for about a week to prevent fraction. The coated pipes will be ready for exit from the factory after final quality control by QC staff.
Production unit
Wrapping & Primer production
This unit is responsible for outer coating wrapping production in an area of about 1,600 square meters. It has the capacity to produce up to 2,000,000 square meters of the mentioned product, and this includes all stages from production to packaging and delivery. This is only achievable due to the fact that, the unit takes advantage of advanced and up-to-date machineries and facilities.Outer wrapping in sizes 2 to 24 inches with standard of AWWA C203 is produced which the ordered type is as per customers of bitumen Enamel and Coaltar Enamel need.
This unit is equipped with laboratory for testing inner and outer wrapping for pipe coating.
