Description
In recent years, the increasing urban population growth in the Metropolis of Tehran has contributed to the increased utilization of water resources and consequently a reduction in the volume and quality of the water stored at urban reservoirs and the surrounding watersheds.
This surface water management project was aimed at collecting and managing Tehran’s surface water in the Municipal District 4 (between Zeinoddin Expressway and Bani Hashem Street). The project was implemented by Iran Ertebat Engineering Company.
Since this project was carried out in one of the most congested streets of Tehran, tunneling operations were first conducted. Next, the pipes were lowered down into the tunnel and were installed. Metal supports and ties were used to secure the tunnel walls. Finally, sprayed concrete was projected onto the tunnel.
Scope of Work
- Supply of all the required materials (e.g., main pipes) as per the provided material list annexed to the contract
- Construction of the polyethylene pipeline (900-1200 mm in diameter), the subsidiary pipeline (315-500 mm in diameter), and manholes, and installation and commissioning of subsidiary facilities
