Description
The project was in line with the objectives specified by Tehran Wastewater Company. It was aimed at enhancing public hygiene and general health in Tehran and managing urban wastewater by performing pipe laying operations (1200 and 1400 inch in diameter, 3 km), and constructing 20 manholes in the 22 municipal districts of Tehran (sadr Hughway, Gisha neighbourhoofd, Mansuri Street, Nazerian Qomi Street, and Shariati Street). Iran Ertebat Engineering Company was assigned to carry out the project.
Due to some complications, operations were performed as pipe jacking and hand tunneling.
Scope of Work
- 12-m-depth Hand tunneling
- Pipe jacking operations
- Construction of manholes used for inspection purposes
- Pouring lean concrete onto the bottom of tunnels lime concrete around the pipes (after the pipes are installed)
- Foundation digging and construction of reinforced concrete walls for manholes
- Drawing as-built plans
- Implementing all the mechanical operations required for the installation of pipes
- Metal framing and reinforced concrete pouring to secure tunnels
