Description

The continuous water scarcity in the region and the need to develop a proper plan to pursue the concerns expressed by the Iranian Supreme Leader and address the problems faced by the residents, the Iranian Ministry of Agriculture set out to carry out this project. To this end, the water supply resources needed for irrigation of the agricultural fields were expected to be provided from Chah Nimeh sites 1, 2, and 4. The project’s objectives included construction of a dam, pumping stations, and water transmission pipelines delivering water to agricultural fields. 130,000 hectares of the region have agricultural potential. In this project, water will be delivered to 46,000 hectares of agricultural land. Thus, this sustainable and safe supply of water to agricultural fields can contribute to the promotion of modern agriculture in the region.

Scope of Work

  • Receiving the steel pipes at the project site and implementing external coating operations using bitumen glaze and non-woven fiberglass reinforcing wraps (felt) with a final thickness of 5.5 mm (lining, first bitumen layer, first wrapped layer, second bitumen layer, second wrapped layer) – Class 3 and internal coating operations using the concrete coating technique
  • Installing, testing, and commissioning the steel pipelines: Installing 3 pipes (with 1800, 2000, and 1400 mm diameters) in a 2,652-m trench
  • Installing, testing, and commissioning the steel pipelines: Installing 2 pipes (with 1800 and 1800 mm diameters) in an 8,493-m trench and 2 pipes (with 1800 and 1400 mm diameters) in a 1,056-m trench
  • Installing, testing, and commissioning 1800-mm steel transmission pipelines, 6,761 m
  • Installing, testing, and commissioning 1400-mm GRP transmission pipelines, 34,837 m
  • Internal and external coating of sleeves
  • Supplying, loading, transporting, unloading, installing, commissioning, and testing valves, fittings, equipment, relevant accessories, and all the items specified for the full implementation and operation of the pipeline not being supplied by the client. All these items shall be supplied by the contractor as per the listed quantities annexed to the contract.
  • Supplying, loading, transporting, unloading, installing, testing, and commissioning the CPS equipment
  • Supplying, transporting, loading, and installing all GPR pipe fittings (elbows, converters, pipe tees, etc.) (As per the listed quantities annexed to the contract)
  • Constructing butterfly and gate on/off valve chambers, air release chambers, and water discharge chambers based on the technical specifications provided in the contract documents
  • Constructing cross structures along the pipeline route: Crossing over Sistan River, and other rivers and watercourses intersecting with the transmission pipeline, asphalted roads (pipe jacking if necessary), canals, rural roads as per the provided technical specifications
  • Running hydrostatic and other relevant necessary tests for commissioning and experimental operation of pipelines, valves, and other equipment installed along the transmission pipeline route
  • Constructing service roads for transmission pipelines
