Description
The project was aimed at supplying healthy and safe drinking water (1500 Liter/s) to Mazandaran Province, especially the cities of Babol, Babolsar, Amirkola, Fereydunkenar, and Kalleh Bast, and the villages located along the pipeline route. The project consists of a water treatment facility, water transmission pipelines, reservoir water transmission pipelines, and pumping stations.
Tolout-Fereydunkenar water transmission pipeline was aimed at supplying water to Mazandaran Group A cities (Phase 2). The pipeline has a length of 49 km and is comprised of 1000- and 1200- mm pipes. This project was implemented by Iran Ertebat Engineering Company.
All the project’s operations were implemented in close proximity to the cities and roads.
Scope of Work
- Bridge construction operations (sheet piling bridge piers with 300-mm pipes), 1200 m
- Construction of valve chambers and implementation of mechanical operations along the pipeline route
- Establishment of 4 CPS stations
Key Statistics
- Internal and external coating and welding operations (1000-1200 mm in diameter), 49 km
- Supply, transportation, and installation of 130 valves, fittings, splits, and all associated technical buildings (50-1200 mm in diameter)

- Metal formwork, 300 m2
- Rebar binding and metalwork, 60,000 kg
- Excavation, backfilling and supply of the proper soil (1,000,000 m3)
- Sheet piling and construction of metal truss structures (1100-6000 mm in diameter) to be installed fat the site of Roshan Abad Bridge
- Restoration of the 3000-km pipeline route through use of crushed materials
- Installation of pressure relief facilities and the associated equipment in the water treatment facility No. 2
