Description

Zahedan gas supply project was aimed at addressing gas scarcity in the region and constructing the infrastructures required for the development of Sistan and Baluchestan Province. The project consists of 2 parts: a feedstock pipeline and a gas distribution network.

Part 1: The feedstock pipelines were constructed using 2-24 inch pipes (56 km). The pipeline transversed the major and minor roads and railways in 56 points. The project included pipe jacking, concrete slab installation (5.1 km), and construction and implementation of 110 valve chambers.

Part 2: The distribution pipelines were constructed using 63-160 inch pipes (5.96 km). The pipeline transversed the streets and railways in 46 points. The project included the construction and implementation of 166 valve chambers.

Scope of Work

  • Supply of all the required materials (e.g., main pipes) as per the provided material list annexed to the contract
  • Construction of steel and polyethylene feedstock and distribution pipelines and installation and commissioning of subsidiary facilities
  • Drawing as-built plans

Key Statistics

  • Excavation in earthy and rocky terrains, approx. 200,000 m3
  • Supply of soil required for filling the spaces around the pipes (50,000 m3) and soil fragments for backfilling the trench (140,000 m3)
  • Pipe laying (steel and polyethylene), 152.5 km
  • Radiography of 5,500 sleeves in different sizes
  • Construction of 110 valve chambers for the steel pipeline and 166 valve chambers for the polyethylene pipeline
